| Send Advice | Dear Roscoe, My husband and I are in our 40's and our children are 13 and 19. When our son wanted a dog three years ago we considered a puppy, but with everyone out of the house during the day it just didn't seem practical. We weren't going to be able to provide the attention or the training the pup would need. Our solution came in the form of a 5 year old lab and spaniel mix, just like you. He had been well-trained, has never had an accident in our home, and is a perfect walking companion for me. We are about the same age and walk at the same speed; our daily three mile walk is a great pleasure for both of us. Tell your fans to consider an older dog and not just assume a puppy is the best choice. Thanks, Jan Deek Akron, Ohio |
