Dear Roscoe, I would really like to have a dog, but my mom doesn't think that it is a good idea. How do I convince her to let me have a dog? Your pal, Joey
Dear Joey, It is not enough for one member of the family to be enthusiastic about getting a dog. The whole household must want the dog. Dogs are quick to detect resentment or dislike and this can have a profound effect on our well-being. It is also possible that your mom realizes that your family home is not a good place for a dog. Try having a friendly discussion with your mom about her concerns so that you can understand her point of view. If I can help answer some of her questions, just write. Love, Roscoe |
